Brian White and Peter George Certified
Brian White and Peter George both moved from apprentice technician to Lead Technician by passing the ASCS (Air System Cleaning Specialist) exam proctored by NADCA (National Air Duct Cleaners Association). The test is not an easy one and demonstrates how thoroughly they have both learned the skills needed to properly clean HVAC systems in the homes and businesses of Safety King’s customers.
NADCA is the internationally recognized certifying body for the air duct cleaning industry and offers several certifications for those employed by member companies. The first and most critical certification for anyone working in air duct cleaning is the ASCS, which both Brian and Peter earned this past month. We are very proud to have each of them working here.
Retirement of Specialist/Instructor Dan Sutherby, ASCS
This is to announce the retirement on March 24, 2009 of one of our longest serving and most experienced employees, Dan Sutherby.
Dan joined the Safety King technician staff on June 1, 1993 and has been with us continuously since then. Early on, Dan showed a particular talent for teaching others the special skills required of a Safety King cleaning specialist. He became our go-to instructor for training of new employees. Since the 1980s, Safety King has been in the business of training people from other companies to be air duct cleaning specialists and Dan has lent his special training skills to that effort as well. He has trained literally hundreds of students who have come to Safety King from all over the globe to learn how to do the job right.
Dan has been a skillful employee and colleague and will be missed by our entire staff.
New Corporate Headquarters Opens
We’re proud to announce the Summer, 2005 grand opening of our new corporate headquarters building on the corner of 22 Mile Road and Ryan Road in Utica, MI. The complex consists of a 10,000 square foot training facility/garage and an adjacent 4,000 square foot office building.
This new building replaces the former headquarters building, a turn-of-the-century farmhouse. “It was a question of space, really,” says the owner, Michael S. Palazzolo. “We had seriously outgrown our former quarters. Plus, we needed more space to maintain and service our fleet of twenty Power Vacuum Trucks between jobs. We also needed more space to support our training programs. We continuously train our own NADCA certified technician team and we also offer technician and marketing training to other companies, some from as far away as Indonesia and Australia.”
