Safety King: the first Aeroseal® Contractor in Michigan
Safety King is the first Aeroseal contractor in the state of Michigan. Aeroseal is a process for sealing leaks in air ducts in homes and businesses that can save as much as 30% of heating and cooling costs annually by substantially reducing energy losses due to leakage.

The Aeroseal® Process Aeroseal Duct Sealing is a patented breakthrough technology that tackles leaks from the inside out. Aeroseal software allows the technician to accurately measure the duct leakage in residential homes and commercial buildings. The Aeroseal process puts escaping air under pressure and causes polymer particles to stick first to the edges of a leak, then to each other until leaks up to .5" wide are closed.
The technology was developed by the Indoor Environment Program at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, whose IAQ scientists tested it. The research was funded by the US Environmental Protection Agency, the US Department of Energy, the Electric Power Research Institute and the California Institute of Energy and Environment.
The University of California was granted initial patents in 1996 and 1999. Aeroseal now holds an exclusive license to the technology and in turn licenses contractors to use it in homes and businesses throughout the nation. Safety King is the first Aeroseal Contractor in Michigan.
Energy savings resulting from reduced air duct leakage can be significant but do vary depending on several factors including climate, utility rates, and the individual characteristics of your heating and cooling system. In addition to energy savings there are other benefits of reduced air duct leakage such as more even temperatures in all rooms, improved indoor air quality, and reduction of odors and fumes.
The Aeroseal 5-step process takes very little time to bring you big savings and comfort.
Cover wall and floor registers so air can escape only through leaks
Inject sealant into the ducts for approximately one hour
Keep small aerosol particles suspended in the airflow by continuous air movement
Particles collide with and adhere to edges as the air stream makes a sharp turn to exit through a leak (only 1 - 2 ounces of the sealant material remain in the ducts after sealing)
Print a computer-generated analysis showing measurements of air duct leakage before and after Aerosealing
Contact your Aeroseal professionals at Safety King today and we’ll be happy to investigate and locate the hidden problem areas in your leaky ducts. We’ll properly diagnose your system, providing you with a cost-effective, state-of-the-art solution to your duct issues.
